There are many Old Couple, or Grandparent pairs of Kokeshi available, but I particularly like this pair because the old woman is standing straight rather than hunched over or kneeling. They are 7 1/2" and 6 1/4" high. The back of the man has the mark and chop of Sekiguchi Sansaku, and the woman is marked on the bottom, Hakone Hotspring, I believe. These seem to be older Kokeshi, with general toning, but the facial expressions and clothing designs are still visible and very pleasing.
