Here are two remarkable books for the golf enthusiast, historian, or collector of golf memorabilia. The first is a 40 pp. book titled: History of the Los Angeles Country Club, Presented by J. F. Sartori, 1936. The publication information on the title page is Beverly Hills, California - 1936. The second book is a 15 page pamphlet also titled History of The Los Angeles Country Club. The pamphlet was printed in Los Angeles by Lyday Printing Co. and is not dated. The introduction to the pamphlet states: "This History was compiled in 1936 by Mrs. Ann Trabue for President Sartori of our Club and sent to all our members. On account of the great number of new members I have printed an abridged copy feeling sure it will be of interest. Chester S. Lyday." The pamphlet was found laid in the book. The pamphlet is in remarkably clean, unmarked condition with just a little toning to the edges of the cover and minor creases from handling. The book has a stiff suede type cover with gold titles on the front. The cover has rubs and creases, bumped edges, and multiple short tears (1/4 inch or less) along the edges. Page 31, a portrait of Edward B. Tufts, is laid in, and apparently extended above the other pages for some time because the top edge is lightly toned, creased, scuffed, and has a bump and short tear. The other pages are tight, clean and unmarked, with some shallow edge bumps and handling creases. The larger book measures 9 1/2" tall and the other measures 7 1/4" tall.
