This is a wonderful Japanese woodblock print of a girl holding a sunflower, by Tadashi Nakayama. He has made a number of variations of this subject for his woodblocks, and this one is my favorite. The image has wonderful effects of copper and silver highlighting to set it off. The print is pencil signed in the lower left margin, dated 1957, and there is a red chop mark on the back. The print is in excellent condition. Although previously framed, there is no toning or mat lines. There are wrinkles, which seem to be a frequent occurance with these prints, but there are no tears, paper loss, or foxing. The print measures about 26 3/8" tall by 19" wide and the image size is 23 3/4" by 15" ...... $975.00
