This is triangular shaped blade US trench knife from WWI. The knife in scabbard measues about 15" long. The knife measures 14 1/4" and has a 9" triangular blade. The only markings on the knife is the lettering "A.C. CO. USA 1917". The grip is wood, which I generally identified as walnut, and has a knuckle guard that has 5 five flanges on each side of the 1" wide knucklebow. The piece is basically in nice condition though the blade has some pitting and the guard shows some oxidation and pitting. The tapered cylindrical scabbard is leather with iron or steel ends and belt hook. Both metal pieces - at the throat and at the tip, look to have 'MS' stamped on them and the guard has what looks like an 'H' stamped. The metal parts are in good condition, showing pitting and oxidation but intact except for one retaining pin missing on the smaller end cap ...... SOLD
