This is a beautifully decorated Meiji era porcelain seated Japanese Quan-yin figure, measuring about 5 1/2" (13.7cm) x 4 1/2" (11.2cm) across the base and 6 3/4" (16.8cm) high. The scroll and undergarment are similar to the familiar gold over orange-red Kutani colors, and the robe is a wonderful dark pink color, covered with finely detailed flowers, some with heavy white enamelling and others in shades of Kutani orange, grasses with applied white dots of enamel and leaves in green with white dots and others in a heavier greenish blue enamel. The bottom has no makers mark. The piece is in excellent condition, with only minor wear to the gilt, a couple craze lines on the hand and below the chin, and a small chip/crack manufacturing flaw on the back bottom edge of her left sleeve. ...... $150.00
