. . This is a very nice pair of Turkish Calligraphy Scissors from the days of the Ottoman Empire. Although this are not precisely a 'weapon', they have been know to be used as such and are frequently displayed in the weapons area of collections and other exhibits. The blades are shape like a dagger, rounded and hollow ground. The overall length of the scissors is 10 1/2", with the sharpened edges being appro. 5 7/8" long and come to a very fine point. The handles appear to be brass and very highly decorated with a gold work design. The condition is quite good, though one finger ring has been cut and the other is slightly 'out of round'. A fine early item to include in your collection ...... $275.00 |
