This is a wonderful portfolio of 20 prints, with the accompanying pages of titles and poems or descriptions, in a silk covered box, stored inside the original cardboard box. The artist, Kaii Higashiyama (1908-1999), was renowned for his paintings, which have world-wide popularity. This is the series he did between 1964 and 1966 titled 'Four Seasons in Kyoto'. This portfolio contains 7 pages of introduction, descriptions and poems, as well as the 20 images of the series. The silk covered box measures 21 1/2 inches x 16 1/4 inches and each page of description and each print measures 20 inches x 15 1/4 inches. The condition of all items in the box is very good. A couple of the prints have small, mild handling creases, as do some of the folders (each print is laid into its own folder) and one has a very small tear on the edge (well away from the print) ......
