Carved Chinese Jade Suiseki

This is a very nicely carved, beautiful Chinese jade in the shape of a Lingzhi fungus - a symbol of immortality - and decorated around the stem with scrolling openwork of two mythological beasts, as well as with additional small Lingzhi fungus. Often, this type of item is used as a contemplation focal point and often referred to, among other things, as a Suiseki. The stone has a wonderful greenish tint with evidence of a desireable warm, brownish skin. The design reminds me of a ruyi scepter. The sculpture is about 6 1/2" long, 2 3/4" at the widest and 2 3/8" high, and weighs about 1 pound 4 ounces. Included is the carved wood stand that has a matching motif ...... SOLD
