. . This is a lovely set for 6 (2 pieces each) of hors d'oeuvre or oyster forks and spreaders (knives). Each 3-tine forks each measure about 6 1/2" in length and each spreader, with it's gold-colored, vermeil blade, measures about 7 1/8" long. All 12 pieces are stamped with the initials 'A-P', '800' and what looks to be a Toucan with a 'w' on one side and a '4' on the other. The set dates from the early 1900s and was originally acquired by an Austrian couple in either Europe or South America - Brazil or Argentina. The overall condition is very good, though there are a few bumps among them and some wear and light surface scratches/rubs. The case is relatively good and quite functional inside and in fair condition on the exterior ...... $250.00 |
