This is a very nice Arts and Crafts style hammered copper desk set that consists of 8 pieces in all. The 2 bookends have a wonderful pattern of tower buildings, which is followed through on the lid of the covered rectangular box. The blotter holder, an inkwell and 4 desktop blotter corners have the hammered motif, but no other decoration or markings. There are no identifying markings on any of the pieces. The bookends each measure about 6 3/4 " high and 6" wide. The covered box measures 4 7/8" long by 2 3/4" wide by 1 1/8" deep. The blotter holder measures 6" long by 3 1/4" wide. The inkwell is not round but averages about 4 1/2" in diameter by 1 5/8" high. Lastly, the 4 desk blotter corners each measure roughly 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" x 4 5/8". The pieces show signs of use and age and a couple have minimal spots oxidation - as can be seen in the photos. The lacquer of the box top is worn (from cleaning?) and there is no insert for the inkwell. This is a great set but I don't know the styles well enough to say who made it though it is similar in style to Roycroft or Van Erp - even down to the rivets ...... $125.00
