.

This is a beautiful and very rare Japanese Ginbari cloisonne vase measuring approx. 4 3/4 inches tall and probably dates to the early part of the 1900s. The design of the primary flower and bud is done with Repousse and Moriage techniques to raise them above the level of the surface and bring them into rather high relief. The rest of the flower and leaf design is executed with very fine wires that appear to be silver. The top and bottom of the piece are silver washed brass and most of the silver is worn off. The enamel on this piece is in excellent condition. There is one very small spot, just under the top rim where there is a 1/2 inch line that may be a stress line with minimal discoloration and no oxidation of the silver foil. This is not the type of piece that one see very often ...... $325.00
