This is a vibrant autumnal watercolor picturing a rushing stream, bordered with brightly colored plantlife, beneath the stately presence of Mt. Fuji. The watercolor shows an impressionist quality and is well executed but of the artist, M. Yoshida, I can find no reference. There are many artists that have the name 'Yoshida', as well as some that sign their work 'Hiroshi' and care should be taken not to mistake their works for one by the renowned Hiroshi Yoshida. This piece measures 19 1/2" x 13" and is in good condition. The work shows some toning, evidence of a previous framing with light matline discoloration noticeable along the left side and a few dark spots, particularly in the upper left corner. There is some waviness along the top edge but no creasing. The back shows a few spaced dark spots and a couple of pencil notations. Overall, a very presentable watercolor that would lend itself well to most decor ...... $250.00
