This is a wonderful early Japanese Oribe glazed earthenware incenser in the shape of a Shi Shi or Foo Lion. The faun-colored earthenware has a great green glaze with varing thicknesses that just barely cover in areas to others that have a rich, heavy layer that shades to blue and is speckled with silvery crystals. The piece, standing on 4 legs and with it's lid in place, measures 4 1/2" long x 4" high x 3 1/2" wide. Condition on the piece is very good with an age line as can be seen in photos 1 and 4. There is a spot on the lid, just at the rim beneath the right corner of the mouth, that may have been touched up, but it is difficult to be sure ...... $225.00
